Heroic themes for everyone that are scored safely for ultimate success highlight this outstanding work for elementary band. There is opportunity for teaching chromatic fingerings in clarinet and tenor saxophone. Ranges are limited to the first six notes in most beginning band methods, with only one possible new note in any part.
Composer Notes:
The Conquerors is a march pays tribute to the band directors and students who fought so valiantly to start and continue band programs during the 2020-21+ Covid pandemic. Starting a new band class through mostly-virtual instruction (and continuing exiting ones) are not tasks anyone had ever anticipated; but like always, directors and band kids rose to the task and conquered this unique challenge.
The Conquerors is dedicated to the O'Fallon, Illinois, District 90 Bands, and to the resilience of band students everywhere.
